Kreston International Latin American Conference
The 11th Latin America Regional Conference was hosted by Kreston member firm, Marambio, Gonzales & Asociados in Caracas over 4th and 5th August. Marambio Gonzales is the largest accountancy practice in Venezuela outside of the Big 4. The conference was packed with over 20 presentations covering both commercial and technical subjects and providing many business development opportunities for Kreston firms and their clients to consider.
The conference sessions covered presentations from Venezuelan companies on their products, markets and the opportunities anticipated for trading partners to boost exports. Member firms reviewed the development of a broad range of service lines including Business Continuity Management, Succession Planning, Fraud Prevention and Review, Preparation for International Financial Reporting Standards, Sarbanes Oxley, Internal Audit, Fixed Asset Review, Transfer Pricing, Systems Security reviews on SAP software and Business Process Re-engineering.
Jon Lisby, Kreston’s International Secretary reported “this was certainly an action packed event and I am sure that all the member firms attending would have identified an area in their practice where the introduction of a new service line would deliver real benefits”.
The next Kreston Latin American Conference will be held in June 2007 in
Northern Argentina and all Kreston member firms are encouraged to consider attendance.
