Kreston UK members get innovative in historical Sheffield

The Kreston 2014 UK Conference took place from 20 – 22nd March and was superbly hosted in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, by Kreston firm Barber Harrison & Platt (BHP).

Over 90 delegates from 17 UK and Ireland based member firms, including representatives from new members Mitchell Charlesworth and LHM Casey McGrath, met to discuss opportunities and developments within several specialist sectors including charities and not for profit, healthcare, technology, professional practices and agriculture.

The conference was opened by Kreston UK Chairman and Bishop Fleming Managing Partner Matt Lee along with BHP Managing Partner, John Warner.

Kreston CEO Jon Lisby provided an update on global developments and commented:

“The strength of our member firms is such that if they were to merge, Kreston UK would rank 11th in the country”.

BHP’s Managing Partner John Warner said:

“It’s an exciting time to be working in the accountancy profession, as technological advances present increasing opportunities to better support the needs of clients, not just in the UK, but globally. Kreston International is one of the world’s leading accounting networks and it was an honour to host our UK event in Yorkshire.”

Social aspects included a tour to the world class aerospace centre at The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) with Boeing and dinner at Kelham Island, Sheffield’s Industrial Museum.

The next UK Conference will be hosted by Duncan & Toplis in Lincoln.
