Dublin’s fair city attracts Kreston’s EMEA conference.

Dublin was selected as the venue for the 2014 Kreston EMEA conference and attracted delegates from 33 countries including out of region members attending from Argentina, Australia, Hong Kong, , India, Mexico and USA.

The Conference was opened by Kreston Chairman Franck Parker and European Regional Secretary Bent Kofoed with an overview of the Irish economic recovery provided by Oliver Mangan, Chief Economist with AIB Bank and Damien Kealy, Managing Partner of Kreston’s Irish member firm, LHM Casey McGrath.

Kreston CEO, Jon Lisby, spoke of the current challenges faced by the global accounting profession and the strategy for the further development of the Kreston global network.

General sessions focused on techniques to enhance the ability of each member firm to win new business and to improve performance in attracting international referrals. Technical breakout sessions worked on improving the processes for transnational group audits and provided regulatory updates in the global audit environment. In the taxation sessions, the legislation applicable to a number of jurisdictions within the EMEA Region was reviewed.

The “highest pub in Ireland” Johnnie Fox’s, provided the highlight of the social programme where delegates and companions all enjoyed an evening of excellent food, traditional music and Irish dancing.
