Mark Chapman to lead Bentleys battle for increased market share.

Bentleys, Kreston’s Australian network, have appointed Mark Chapman to National Association Executive Officer. Mark replaces Graeme Blockley who left earlier this year.

Bentleys have made a bold move appointing Mark, an ex- army officer, to Executive, and one that is becoming increasingly common in high profile legal and accounting firms.

During 18 years in the British Army, Mark served in diverse environments such as Northern Ireland, Kenya, Germany and also in the Gulf War where he was Military Assistant to Britain Senior Officer, General Sir Peter de la Billiere.

Appointed MBE after The Gulf War, Mark then worked as an instructor at The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, in the UK, before being posted to the Australian Army for three years. After completing a Master’s in Business, Mark worked in two Law Firms and a British based retail firm before joining the London based Salamanca Merchant Bank and Risk Management Company as Consultant.

On considering his move to Bentleys, Mark commented:

‘I was very impressed by the Partner’s strategic plan and the vision to expand their network. Their significant overseas connections with Kreston members added a further attraction and I could see how Bentleys are able to offer multinational clients a gateway to the global market place. The opportunity to be part of this was a very strong incentive, as was the challenge to operate in a geographically dispersed network. Key to my decision was the culture of ‘relaxed efficiency’ reinforced by the highest professional standards. I look forward to being part of Bentleys and Kreston”.

Bentleys are ranked in the top 20 Business Review Weekly’s Top 100 Accounting Firms have a network of ten offices nationally, 58 partners, more than 360 staff and annual revenue in excess of $75 million.

Bentleys has offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Newcastle, Tamworth, Tasmania and Canberra.

Mark will work mainly out of Bentleys’ Brisbane and Sydney offices.
