Kreston Global appoints new Chair of Global Indirect Tax Group

October 29, 2021

Following an extensive and high quality application process in which many of our firms were involved either through nomination or voting, Kreston Global has appointed Rupert Moyle as Chair of the Global Indirect Tax Group (GITG). It was a very impressive showcase of how committed our member firms are to the Global Groups and peer knowledge sharing, and we want to thank everyone who made a submission – all were read very carefully.

Rupert’s appointment reflects the level of support from his peers, his pragmatic approach to growing our global expertise in this area, and his commitment to the commercial growth of our network demonstrated by a significant throughput of international referrals on Kreston Kommunity.

Rupert has over 30 years of experience as a VAT specialist and has been Head of VAT at Kreston Global member firm Kreston Reeves since 2015, becoming partner in 2017. His work focuses on owner managed businesses and international groups, and he has extensive experience advising businesses on the consequences of trade between the UK and EU post Brexit.

Prior to joining Kreston Reeves, Rupert worked for PwC for six years, and then Baker Tilly (now RSM) for eight years as Director of VAT services in the Southern UK Region. There he was responsible for a broad client base of owner-managed businesses, property companies, international groups and charitable/not-for-profit organisations, advising on transactions, reliefs and handling negotiations with UK’s Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

In his role as Chair, Rupert will prioritise the exchange of issues, ideas and solutions, increasing connectivity through technology as well as strengthening publicity around the team’s capabilities and promoting further referrals between countries. He and the GITG leadership group will work closely with Kreston’s Global Tax and Audit Groups to increase collaboration and client-centred innovation, as well as liaising with the Global Corporate Finance Group.

Liza Robbins, Chief Executive of Kreston Global, commented:
“We are thrilled to have Rupert leading the VAT and Indirect Taxes team.  Rupert is an experienced VAT expert with a commitment to thinking globally about how to prepare for the challenges of trading in specific jurisdictions, as well as to ensuring that we continually add value to the services which are offered to our clients. I also particularly want to thank Rupert’s predecessor, Manuel Vogel, for his contribution to the Group during his three year term.”

Rupert Moyle, Indirect Tax Chair of Kreston Global said:
“It is a privilege to take on this role having been a member of the Group for over six years and having seen it and the importance of indirect taxes grow so much. Global business is not easy when it comes to indirect taxes as illustrated by the changes in Europe of late which have certainly been considerable, with more on the horizon. Meeting these new challenges requires a coordinated, collaborative approach, something which our network is well positioned to provide on both the international and local level. I look forward to demonstrating how we can help current and prospective clients to manage multi-location, global, projects.”
