UK firm Kreston Reeves partners with global IT leader Cisco

UK firm Kreston Reeves partners with global leader Cisco to judge and provide prizes to exceptional tech companies.

Kreston Reeves Partner and Head of Technology Michael O’Brien was one of several judges at this week’s final of the Cisco BIG Awards 2015, which took place at the National Theatre in London.

Kreston Reeves is proud to support and partner with Cisco, the worldwide leader in IT and the BIG Awards were established to help stimulate innovation among high-potential, early-stage technology start-ups, entrepreneurs and innovators to accelerate the development of products and solutions around the “Internet of Things” and “Internet of Everything”.

The awards attracted up to 150 applicants who provide solutions that can solve business challenges in the Oil/Gas, Energy, Transport, Health, Retail and Smart Cities sectors. The applicants were shortlisted by the judging panel, headed up by Phil Smith, Chief Executive of Cisco UK & Ireland, to just 6 finalists culminating in this week’s live final.

The prize fund for the 3 highest placed finalists totalled over $340,000 including cash prizes and mentoring packages from Kreston Reeves and other award partners, with the winner taking home a cheque for $100,000.

The winner of the Cisco BIG Awards 2015 was announced as NWave http://www.nwave.io, a wireless network platform that can provide low-cost, low-power communications between devices and the cloud over a wide area, which could revolutionise the world’s connectivity.
