2nd Kreston Africa Conference

The 2nd Kreston African Conference was held in Libreville, Gabon over 10-12th March attended by 31 delegates drawn from the 24 countries in which the network currently has representation. The Conference was held in conjunction with the Annual Congress of GHA-Exco, Kreston’s West African network.

The Conference was joined by the Kreston Chairman, Franck Parker, Kreston’s CEO Jon Lisby and Pierre Vielllard , the President of Exco France – Kreston’s national network in France. The meeting extended its welcome to the new Kreston member firms In South Africa, Nigeria, Rwanda and Burundi.

The Conference reviewed the opportunities for extending representation in further countries in East, Central and Southern Africa.Sessions covered strategies to enhance collaboration between the Member firms across Africa to support inbound foreign direct investment, in particular from the Asia Pacific region, with a focus on China and India.The Conference reviewed the business environment in both the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) and the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) together with the standard system of business laws adopted through West and Central Africa ( OHADA ). The advantages of structuring foreign inbound investment through Mauritius were also discussed..

Presentations were received from the World Bank and the Gabon Chamber of Commerce.

Conference delegates enjoyed a full and varied social including a city tour and a visit to the host firm, Fiduciaire Expertise Assistance et de Gestion Comptable – FEAG.
