REUNITED LATIN AMERICA REGION

Following a Board decision at their meeting in Chicago in October, the South American and the Central America/Caribbean Regions have been re-united into a single Kreston Latin America Region.

We are very pleased to announce that Alejandro Isás of Isás y Asociados Públicos, SC in Queretaro , Mexico has been elected to serve as the Director and Regional Secretary and his initial period of office will continue for the two years to December 2009.

The Kreston Board and the International Office take this opportunity to extend their thanks to Jorge Papantos on his retirement as Regional Secretary for South America and from the Kreston Board after some 8 years of service. Jorge Papantos was instrumental in the initial creation and development of Kreston’s representation in the Region and played an active role in Board discussions throughout his term of office.

On his appointment, Alejandro comments:
“I was delighted when I learned of the Board’s decision to re-establish the Latin American Region. I am most honoured to have been elected by the member firms to serve in this way – this is a very challenging opportunity and I look forward to working closely with all the members throughout the Region to build on our existing strength, the level of our collaboration and the value membership creates for each individual firm . An initial small team comprising Cesar Ramos of Brazil , Miguel Del Olmo of Mexico , Mario Velasco of Guatemala , Central America and Frank Sanchez of Puerto Rico , Caribbean have offered to assist in developing the strategy.”

Jon Lisby adds:
“Through his involvement in the development of Kreston Mexico , Alejandro has clearly demonstrated he has the ability to work with others and can produce outstanding results in terms of national growth, quality and cohesion. We now look forward to his contribution at both the Regional level in Latin America as well as globally through his appointment to the Kreston International Board of Directors”.
