Meera Rajah appointed Kreston Global Indirect Tax Group Chair

Meera Rajah has been appointed as Chair of the Kreston Global Indirect Tax Group.

Meera, Partner at James Cowper Kreston, brings almost three decades of experience in VAT and customs duty to the role. She began her career with HM Customs and Excise, qualifying in 1996, and subsequently worked with HM Revenue and Customs before transitioning to the private sector. In 2012, she joined James Cowper Kreston, where she established and now leads the firm’s VAT and international trade services. She became a partner in 2018.

Her wide-ranging expertise includes VAT planning and mitigation, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border supply chains, partial exemption methods, and resolving complex disputes with tax authorities. Meera also specialises in supporting clients from South-East Asia and has built a highly regarded advisory team with a collaborative, agile working model.

As Chair of the Kreston Global Indirect Tax Group, Meera will lead a network of specialists across member firms, supporting cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange. A long-standing and active contributor to the Group, she in keen to developing its technical agenda and wider profile within the network.

“I’ve seen firsthand how sharing technical and practical indirect tax expertise across teams can drive engagement and deliver tangible value,” Meera said. “I’m delighted to take on the role of Chair and will continue to focus on encouraging open collaboration across the network. The more we share what works, the stronger we become as a group.”

She outlined her priorities as enhancing communication, fostering inclusion, and helping member firms identify new business opportunities in a changing global tax environment.

“Good communication is critical,” she added. “It’s about working closely with the Steering Group, sharing knowledge, respecting different experiences and viewpoints, and focusing on what delivers value. I aim to create an atmosphere of enthusiasm, trust and collaboration that strengthens the Group and benefits the wider network.”

Meera is a regular speaker at Kreston Global conferences and is well-known within the network for her strategic mindset, technical insight, and approachable style.
