Kreston focuses on the Future at 42nd World Conference.
The Kreston International 42nd Annual Conference was held in Vancouver, Canada over 18th to 22nd September with a business programme entirely focused on the future, and included sessions on Succession Planning, Partner Accountability, The Future of the Profession and The Future of Work.
Jon Lisby, Kreston Executive Director and Conference Chairman Bent Kofoed welcomed The Honourable Andrew Wilkinson, the Minister of Technology, Innovative and Citizens’ Services, BC and Mr Richard Rees, CEO of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Colombia to the opening session.
The key note speaker was Rebecca Ryan, part futurist and part economist and founder of Next Generation Consulting. Rebecca presented highly entertaining sessions on Succession Planning; the Future of the Profession and the Future of Work. In particular, Rebecca asked the question “Is your firm future ready?” and referred to specific trends which will help a firm determine this including demographics; the speed of the development of technology; and the effects of environmental change. Rebecca emphasized the importance of firms’ commitment to discussing these and other related issues and to including them in their strategic plans.
Mark Koziel, Vice President of Firm Services and Global Alliances at the AICAPA presented on Partner Unity and Accountability for the Future Firm and focused on the issues firms face when developing their future leaders.
The 2014 Kreston International Conference will be held in Denmark.
