Kreston and Exco meet at “The City of Lights”

The 2009 Kreston International EURAFNE conference took place at the Hotel Concorde La Fayette in Paris from 17th – 19th September. Hosted by Kreston member Exco, over 100 Kreston delegates took part.

The conference, which was organised in conjunction with Exco’s annual event, commenced with a welcome dinner where Kreston delegates and companions were joined by the Exco Board of Directors.

Business proceedings commenced on Friday with local member presentations and then Executive Director, Jon Lisby,  updated all on Kreston International Strategy.  A speed dating networking session and special interest group workshops then followed. The afternoon session gave the delegation an opportunity to hear from newly appointed Director of Quality and Professional Standards, Sue Almond. Sue discussed how her appointment will impact upon Kreston member firms as Kreston grows and develops. Sue says:

” Inevitably there will be change for member firms as we move towards a more consistent and cohesive global organisation. We need to put these in the context of the business objectives and the commercial benefits that member firms are looking for”.

The group then heard from new Kreston members and Ken Norman from New Tricks entertained with his discussion entitled “The Black Art of Spotting Opportunities”

To conclude, Exco and Kreston were brought together to hear from former record breaking international rugby star, Philippe Sella. Philippe gave an interesting overview of how tactics in rugby can be applied to management and employee performance alike.

Thanks go to Exco and all involved in making the conference such a memorable event.
